The pictures look quite a bit overprocessed, especially looking at the grass. Also, the colors seem a little too bold, but maybe this was a very sunny nice day. I can only compare to my Canon S500 (for comparison with small cameras that is), I haven't tried any of the competition, Olympus, Casio, Pentax etc., so I don't want to discourage you. As long as you like them, that's the most important thing!

HI Stridis,

I think the corners of the pics are very soft, they are also darker and there is quite a bit of purple fringing to see too. But hey: it is such a cute little camera, what do you expect? These downers apply to most sub-compact camera's, so enjoy your beuatiful gadget!

Take a look at pictures at consumer.usa.canon.com!
Compare 2 portraits:
1. ixus 410:
http://consumer.usa.canon.com/app/images/d_camera/S410_samp1.jpg

2. ixus 40:
http://consumer.usa.canon.com/app/images/d_camera/sd300_sample1.jpg

I know that these are two different pictures\portraits but... check ather if you like. I think image quality is much better in case of ixus 410...
I wish to be wrong though since I was thinking of getting ixus 40 :(

Say what you think
