:D I was surprised to see that some retailers are in stock ... after searching, found Broadway Photo to be best price at aroun $365 for black. No problems with them whatsoever - in fact, the camera arrived 1 day earlier than estimated.
This camera is replacing a Canon IX-50 (SD-400 in the US, I picked up mine in Japan) which I was totally fed-up with ... soft shots, purple fringing, 1/2 of the shots out of focus, even when on a tripod and using flash (that was the last straw).
So far - I'm impressed. I think Jeff's review nailed most of the good points very nicely. I'll take more pix. over the coming days and post any more thoughts, but as of right now, I'm pretty happy with it. Especially the size, sleekness (the black body is VERY cool).

How is the battery life on the T9?
Also, for any new camera in general, will the battery drain if it is not used for a week or two? My old Canon S30's battery is depleted after a week of zero use. Thanks.

My girlfriend got a T-9 and the battery life is OK. I think you should buy one more battery, and it's enough for whole day use as two batteries can take over around 500 shots. Sony's batteries are great and you won't got too much battery's drain problem.

I'm in Japan right now and my girlfriend has one. I unfortunately had too much sake and dropped it. The door that holds the battery broke. Other than that it was a nice camera.

Hi Zeus
Iam new into photography and just bought SONY DSC T9 for the past two week . From your professional view, do you think T9 can shoot a nice and quality picture ? Do you think the setting provided are enough for the Digital Camera ?
Thanks for the opinion . I appreciate it very much .

Hi All
I think phsycally T9 is very attractive and solid . The button are pure and look strong . I am attracted for the 1st time with their looks . The quality I cant comment much because Im still trying to get a nice picture . For the video taken, the result are superb like recording with your real camcorder . Maybe pro among us can comment on picture quality if its printed .
Thats all .

the sony dsc-t9 is great for what it does. but regarding the pricing on it, still a bit pricey for the price. for a 6mp @ roughly $500. not worth it still considering you can purchase a panasonic 6mp w/ the same features for the lower price.
the technology and features are great. i love it.
just not worth the 500 price tag IMHO.
regarding quality, i still think the canon produces slightly better picture quality despite the lack of an image stabilization
just my 2 cents.
