I bought my DX7440 in June and have taken about four hundred pictures since then and have noticed a recurrent problem. Often green leaves backlit by the sun are a distinct purple color. Also, under certain circumstances (cloudy, rainy conditions), there is a general purple cast to the entire photo, as if the magenta component of the color spectrum were given an extra boost. I believe this is different from the purple fringing found on some cameras. All these pictures have been taken in the auto mode. Any suggestions?

I don't have any suggestions.
But,I just put a Kodak(DX7440) on layaway at meijer's 2-days ago.
I think that I'll be cancelling it.And buying a Z760 or Z730 instead.

sounds like an apparent defect in your particular camera.
I have a DX7440 and have taken thousands of photos with it, and no problems similar to yours.
contact Kodak support maybe?
