How did you find out about this site? Just curious. :)

As for myself, I was browsing around for a good review of the Canon G6 and stumbled across this site and DPReview through Google. I liked the reviews here better, so I decided to stick here.

I'm pretty sure it was via a freind who had contacted Andy Baird about an Apple quickTake 200 he owned, which lead us both to the DCRP. I think at the time I was shooting film with an FE and Minolta 3Si and digital on my state-of-the-art Ricoh RDC-4300 labeled as a Philips ESP-80 (circa 1998). Then a CP900 and CP990, based primarily on user feedback on the CP900 and Jeffs review of the CP990 in 2000 (which I still use for macro shots).

So maybe I've been hanging out here longer than I originally thought. It has been fun.

Actually, I should be a bit more specific about my first encounter with this site about 5 years ago. I was looking to buy my first digital camera, and I vaguely recall reading the review for my current digicam (Kodak DC3400) on this site and the review for the competing Olympus model. I also got here through a Google search back then, but there were no forums back then either, so I didn't stick around.

i stumbled across this site looking for reviews when shopping for my first digital in around june 2004. i went on a mission after realizing how crappy the reviews were on cnet.com (the top result on google at the time). i found dpreview.com first, on google, but it was all a little too confusing at the time. i don't even remember how i found THIS site; it was either linked on dpreview.com or i found it through google. for a newbie to digital this site was VERY easy to understand, though a glossary would have helped too. the forums here appear on google results regularly nowadays, but back then i can't remember seeing this site as a google result at all.
