Please help: Nikon 7900: Flash photographs blur

I just bought Nikon Coolpix 7900. This is my first large megapixel camera (I had a 1.3m camera before). I took first set of pictures of a birthday party with this camera. Almost all of the pictures came out blurry because people moved (I don't think it was camera shake). Does this happen to all large megapixel digital camera or am I doing something wrong.

Please help.

You sure the flash fired every time?

If you click on the file in windows explorer then right click and go to advanced view under details you can see the exif (information about the photo) in windows XP. Shutter speed is what your looking for, slow shutters mean blur if you don't keep camera steady (near impossible at certain shutter speeds)

I will check that information when I go home. What you said makes perfect sense.

I also assume that this is not a problem with digital cameras - that night pictures come out fine if the flash fires.
