Hi,

I have a 5 year old regular Nikon Camera, with good lens (Nikkor AF 28-80 mm),

planning to buy a new Digital Nikon camera,

and was thinking of buying a body and attaching my old lens to it.

wanted to konw if an operation like that is even possible, and if you have any tips for me...

It will fit and you will be able to take photos (the beauty of the Nikon system). I'm not familiar with the lens but you have have to focus and set apperture manually. I'm sure others will be able to give you the full info.

Since you said this is a Nikon AF lens, it should work just fine with any of the Nikon digital cameras. You would only have to set focus, aperture, exposure, etc... manually if the lens was a manual lens. Since this is not the case, you should be OK. It will have the effective focal length of a 42-120mm lens, though. You may want to bring it into a camera shop to see the difference.
