Sony dsc-p52 does not power on

I have a sony dsc-p52 that does not power on. I tried pressing the reset button. Everytime I do that, I hit power about 3 times and it lights up for 1 second then shuts off. Anyone here know how to fix this.

Hi,

One of my friends had exactly the same problem with his DSC P72. Sorry to say he needed a replacment lens mechanism and was quoted £110 to fix it.

Needless to say he didn't pay that, but is still looking for a "donor" camera on ebay to cannibalise :D

Im probably going to sell this one on ebay. But I dont think this lense is supposed to retract. Thanks for the reply. If anyone needs this camera ill probably put it up for auction tommorow. 11/17/05. User id is giosan*enterprises. Thanks
