View Full Version : fuji 9500: light cranking noise- is it normal?

i just got fuji finepix 9500 everything is fine...
but, in shootng mode, i hear some noise -like some light metal cranking 3-5 times everytime i point the len alternate between bright sky and darker object. this happen mostly outdoor, indoor the sound very minimal sometime not at all.
any advice?

it could be the thing called autofocus...
switch to mf and listen,

MF - no noise when move the len, but still some noise when switch it on/off or change from display to shooting.

hi JACK2005,
thats how the camera communicate with you,(true, computers can talk)
sometimes i knock the camera by accident and turn it on (a specially when i put it on passenger seat,) so once you hear it talking to you, you can turn it back off again,
prevents the batterys from unnesesary loss of power,
and so on,
but life is simple if you smile,
at the end it is nothing to worry about,
most digitals do make certain noises,
some of them you can turn on or off,(using menu)
