Budget
I'd like to spend no more than $350.
Size
I'd like a pocket-sized camera. Smaller is better.
Features
4 megapixels is plenty; more may be good, too.
I'd like at least 3x optical zoom.
Image quality is very important: 9.
Manual controls would be nice, not necessary.
General Usage
I'll use the camera mostly for photos of flowers in my garden, vacation photos, family functions, photos of friends, the dog, the in-laws. Some documenting of city street life, too.
I will rarely make big prints of my photos.
I probably will not shoot a lot of indoor scenes or in low light, but would ideally like to have the capability to do so.
Rarely will I shoot sports events or action shots.
Miscellaneous
Had an Olympus -- stolen; this camera is it's replacement -- liked it a lot. I learned from that camera that I will not carry around a large camera, no matter how good the quality.
I'm considering the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-P200 and the Canon PowerShot SD300. Not wedded to either, though.
(If applicable) Do you need any of the following special features? (Wide Angle, Image Stabilization, Weatherproof, Hotshoe, Rotating LCD) I don't need any of those special features. Would prefer a good zoom for photos of flowers.
Thanks in advance for your consideration and help.
