Hey. I have an Olympus C-360. It was a great camera to start with and learn some nuances about digital photography, but there are some things that have come to light that make us want to upgrade.
First and foremost, the Olympus is too slow. It takes 3 seconds or so before you can take the first picture, and it takes equally as long to take the next picture. Most of the pictures we take are of our first born, so needless to say, the camera is way too slow to capture what we want, especially now that the running around and doing crazy stuff has begun.
From what I've read, dSLR offers great speed, but we also want to stay compact. We carry too much stuff with us as it is when we go out, it'd be nice to have a small camera (comparable to the Olympus).
Image quality is important to us. Sometimes the flash washes out too much indoors, but no flash photography results in blurry pictures and stuff. Doesn't impress the grandparents who will use anything to argue against technology (film cameras may be outdated ... but the pictures are always colourful and crisp, blah, blah, blah).
And finally price is of course always a consideration for us, but it's the least important. I probably wouldn't spend more than US$300, but if it's a great camera that I (and everyone) totally loves, then I'd probably buy it anyways, regradless of price.
So in summary, my main features are fast shooting of crisp, clear pictures (especially indoors) from a compact digital camera that's reasonably affordable. Thanks in advance for any help.
