I have recently purchased the Canon S80, and I love it so far. The features
are a joy to work with. I also own a Sony P-200.
The two questions I have are- when I am in Auto mode- the green focus squares seems to pop up other than where I want to focus on, and keep
changing, but I seem to have no control on where to place them.
Also, I don't seem to be able to get a forced flash on Auto mode.
Another problem I seem to have, is that when I am going to take a shot,
I press the shutter down half way, to shoot in the auto or P mode,
I get the shutter speed and aperature that the camera chooses showing up on the LCD screebm but if I do
the same shot and press the shutter down two or three times, I keep getting
very widely differing shutter speeds- for example, one time I pressed the
shutter button down and the shutter speed was 1/20, and another time
it was 1/60, and I can't seem to repeat either reading by pushing the
shutter down half way. I feel like I can't rely on getting a good shot. Sometimes I don't get clear pictures
when the Canon S80 chooses a low shutter speed, after just having chosen a
higher shutter speed of the same shot-it causes camera
shake, whereas the Sony consistently chooses the same choices.
Does anyone else have this problem- do you think I got a bad camera?
I love the features on the Canon S80, and I love the wide angle, and it''s
wonderful to feel, a beauty, less bulky than the S70, and more user friendly.
If someone could help, I would very much appreciate it. Thanks in advance.
