hi bioflyer,
put it simple without to much nitty-gritty;
let start from the top; _this is fuji and they are known to be good with colors, and -bit soft on the sharpnes side,(opposite to sony i heard),
-matter of like,dislike(for some), and disputable,
ok next;
-it can also be due to the physicle size of the ccd hr,(read:squized)that you mentioned,
-you have purchased a lemon,as some people claim faults on above camera with certain earlier serial numbers,
-camera adjustment, which i assume you are familiare with (the big,funny booklet!),
-try to do same work with your software(picassa,acdsee,bibble,nero and so on,not to mentioned the upper price ones)
-shoot in raf,raw and again try to work it out thru your software,
- this pictures i have done i raw and finish them of in acdsee,and it still
make me think that they are on the soft side,(they look better as raw files)
-apology for the mish-mash, let hope that you find your way, not necessarly
the hard one
wish you luck and many good pictures to post to forum,
keep well,smile
regards
zdzislaw
ps.dont worry english is not my primary language
