serious problem in my S2IS

Today my S2IS in the "stand by" mode(the LCD is black and top indicator light is lighting) when I push any button switch to shot mode my S2IS is no working.I have to open the battery box door then close it my S2IS works as usual.
is there anyone can tell me why????? have you ever met this problem?????

Thank you!!Send it in for warranty repair. My S2's mode dial had a problem, so I sent it in. It was back in ten days as good as new.
