Since this is my first camera, I'm a rookie in every sense of the word. I've spent the last couple of days reading reviews on various sites and I've narrowed it down to either the Z3 or the Z20. The differences that seem to matter are the fact that the Z20 will support additional lenses, the manual focus, and the flash option. I read earlier that the 3mp vrs. 5mp is not that significant due to the sharpness of the Z3. To have a camera that gives me some versatility and will contiue to satisfy me as I learn the ropes, which camera should I buy.

I would enjoy reading some informed opinions about the FZ3 vs FZ20 as well. If you go to JimZim's recent post he has an example of what an external flash can do for the FZ20 camera and some other pics and information. Nice work. :D

In the meantime I am patiently waiting on Jeff's reviews of the FZ3 and Z3 to compare to his great recent review of the FZ20.

Thanks, Mort

Like you, I too am anxiously waiting for Jeff's review on the Z3. However, if you want to read another review before he gets his posted, I found one at dpreview.
