Hi all. Does any one have links to pics with Tamron Autofocus 28-75mm f2.8 ? The reviws on this lens were very good. I am considering giving up my canon 17-85 IS for this 2.8 lens.
thanks in advance

I do. I love it. It doesn't focus as well as a Canon lens but it's not bad. I get crisper images from that than from a great many other lenses.

You will find the Tamron 28-75 a big improvement over the 17-85. I've had mine for 2 years and it gives me wonderful images. I don't see any difference in focusing speed between it and Canon lenses. It equals or surpasses the 50mm f1.8 for sharpness.

On the other hand, you will miss the wide converage of the 17-85 but it will cover a full frame sensor so there will be no need to replace it when cheaper prosumer full frame cameras become available.

The lenses are now made in Japan but assembled in China and some users have had to send their lenses in to be re-calibrated before giving optium performance.
