What do yuothink about the S80?

Hello everyone,

I'm going to be purchasing my first digital camera soon and I'm very happy to have stumbled across this site. The reviews are thorough and the Canon forum has been very helpful.

Anyway, can anyone share their experiences with the S80? I'm leaning toward the A610/20 because it is so well regarded, but the smaller size of the S80 is very nice, and it is more feature rich in comparison. I don't think I can wait until the review later this month. Help!!

Like my S30 it should be a great camera, but its lens is a bit less than the ones of the A610/620, so it will show a little CA. It does go much wider, 28 mm.. which can be a real plus. Its 8mp will of course be a little bit noisier... But all in all, it is a very good camera.

I have the S80 and I love it. The image quality is superb, battery life is very good, it is easy to use, has tons of great features and is compact. I handled the A620 (which is also a great camera), but it was too large and bulky for my tastes and I guess I am in the minority of guys who did not like the swivel LCD. You will not have to wait until later this month to read a review. Cnet.com has already posted one, and Simon Joinson at dpreview.com says he plans to post his review by the end of this week. Can you wait that long???? :rolleyes:
