Ok. I lied. It's not really a model. It's me. I was playing with the RC-1 Remote with my tripod set up outside. I decided to take it further after goofing around and practice shooting portraits. I had to increase DOF simply because it's virtually impossible to lock proper focus when you can't look through the viewfinder - so please forgive that aspect. Let me know what you think.
They were all shot in my back yard; Manual Mode, f/8, 1/400th, ISO400, Lightsphere II direct flash, +2 FEC.

Nice shots CDI.
I call this my "all back-dropped with no place to go" series. The model I was supposed to shoot Saturday was a no show. But I really wanted to try out some different lighting combinations, so - it's me!

Irksome that the camera won't autofcus just prior to the shutter activating in self-timer mode - I used a light stand to set my focus and then jumped into place.

Haha awesome! I have no light stands though. Durnit. Meesa poor since getting the L stuff (heck I'm negative $2700 to my mommy dearest just for that and XT #2) that I need to do some serious payoff before I can get studio lighting. Fortunately using the infrared remote (RC-1) does act like a half-press on autofocus...it's just immediately before the shutter goes off since there's no halfway point on the remote button. It's just impossible to get right at the focus point without seeing it in the viewfinder...so more DOF worked. I prolly coulda got away with f/5.6 or so but decided to play it safe.

Happy with the RC CDI? Looks like you are.
LOL - Peter - That second one just makes you laugh. Looks like you should be happy with the lighting, no? They look good to me.

Yeah Parm...kinda hard to hit the sensor all the time with that big honkin L hood on there but it does make for some fun shots. Kinda nice to play around on the other end of the camera for a change without limiting yourself to arm's reach. I'm hoping to use it to get in on some group shots every now and then too.

Perhaps it was lack of direction from coming from the other side of the camera. . . ? LOL
