The digital Rebel has this feature of de-activate itself after a few seconds if no button is pushed. My guess this saves battery. However to re-activate the camera, I have to push a button and wait for a least one or two seconds. A lot of photo opportunities are lost because of this. Is there a way to turn the feature off? Thanks.

Should be under Menu, look for "auto power off" and set it to your choice.

Menu
Setup 1
Auto power off (1, 2, 4, 8, 15, 30 mins, off)
