I would like to know how the 7 megapixel quality compares to the 5 megapixel of, say, the A95. DC's Review says the quality is nice or good. But, compared to...what? It used to be that the more megapixels you cram on the chip, the noisier the picture got. Has Canon found a way to beat this? Is the clarity or noise on the new 7 megapixel as low as the A95's 5 megapixels?

Thanks!

there is no way around this! the trick manufaturers do is build a denoiser like Fuji is doing right now with their noise free cams but its better to have control over that in post rather than have the camera do it for you and soften your image.
dpreview said they are not a fan of inbuilt noise reduction.

i own the a95 and have recently purchased a G3 and boy did i notice clarity lossing a megapixel!

i just hope people talk about this more often to friends and family so it can become common consumer expectation over the need for more megapixels.

youre better off with the a610 even if costs more than a620!
its the best camera way over its price range.
