Just a few shots from a local garden, these were taken along a walkway. I adjusted the colour just a smiget using the channel mixer to get a little POP!

Really lovely shots, Tyger. I'm looking at them on an old tube at work that I don't really trust to be accurate. My autumn series had far too much "pop" here at work, but looked okay on my LCD, so I can't comment on saturation. But they sure look nice.
Regards,
Bill

Thanx Bill, yeah i know what you mean...i'm using an old viewsonic monitor at home and no matter what i do to calibrate the colours, they always seem a little off. For these pics however i like the oversaturated look:)

Tyger,
Nos 1 and 2 really stand out for me. One for its simplicity and two for the colours. Can't help feeling there's maybe too much "going on" in the others to really hit the mark. One man's meat is another man's poison, though.

I agree really nice shots. No2 & the last one are my favourites although I would have cropped just a bit of the darker areas off the the last one. Here's a quick shot I took in the garden yesterday. I was just messing around in the morning autumn sun. Compression for the web seems to make it a bit fuzzy though I like the colours. Actually looking at this I ought to crop a bit off too! Taken on FZ20 with f4.6, 1/320, iso100 (forgot to turn it down to 80 from some previous night shots!) and exp comp -0.3.

hi Phil! i don't consider myself a 'visitor' of Derbyshire anymore especially Chesterfield. i'll be living here for years or so until my wife's work permit and my work contract will expire. I've been to South Devon last August and it's also a very nice place with very nice and friendly people. the only thing i don't like now is the weather, having been in a tropical country like philippines, UK's weather is my greatest struggle so far.
btw, i edited my profile just now to indicate where i live now.

Here's one I took here in Southern California. Resized and just a touch more saturation in the editing.

Our autumn colors seemed to be out of sync' this year, with reds one week, golds a few weeks later, etc. Anyway, this one is nothing special, but for some reason I thought it was worthy of a snap. :)
