Lil' dude came over dressed as a puppy. I was using the 24-70L (yeah the defective one...replacement delayed till Wednesday) so please excuse the misfocus on some. For some reason I had trouble metering too. Musta been the dark outfit, with the white patches throwing it off. Oh well. Hope y'all can enjoy 'em for what they are rather than judging their technical merit. :)

As a Christmas gift to my sister and her husband, I've begun an album containing the best of everything I've shot of my nephew from his birth until the present. I'm adding anywhere between 3 and 9 photos (maybe more if it's a longer day/event) from each "session" - basically anytime he comes over or I visit or whatever. I'm also going to create some little flyers with coupons good for x number of photo sessions (maybe 4 a year ie one for each season) and a few prints so I not only get practice but they save money on those high prices at mediocre studios.

I figure I don't have money to give them presents...and he has enough toys already...but I can make good use of my time and this camera gear I'm paying for.

Thanks Pete. I tried to put this lens away but since the replacement keeps getting delayed, I keep pulling it back out of its box. I don't like this copy of the lens but it's still better than the kit.

Some of my earliest photos (I didn't post them) were horribly underexposed even with flash because I had forgotten to reset the FEC to +1 as necessary with the Lightsphere attached & bounced. I used it in Av mode the whole time but in hindsight I shoulda gone manual...and lowered my shutter speeds just a tad while upping my ISO to 800. ISO 800 is really clean when flash is involved and it helps keep the background light as even as the fill in that room.

Dunno what I was thinking...
