Which Sigma 70-300 best for D70? DG or Super II?

I'm planning to buy the Sigma APO 70-300 that I've read a lot about here. In looking at B&H to purchase it tonight, I noted that I need to choose between the "Super II" and "DG" versions.

Was hoping that someone could guide me on which of those is most suitable for the D70.

I apologize for my lack of understanding, but after reading the "features" and "specifications" links on B&H, I don't quite know which is the best choice. Given that the price of one is the highest, I suppose that might be the "best", but was hoping that you fine forum folks could lend an opinion and some expertise.

#2 - Sigma Zoom Telephoto 70-300mm f/4-5.6 APO Zoom Macro Super II Autofocus Lens for Nikon AF-D - $199.95

The DG version is good, but I haven't seen any differences from the Super II.
I own the Super II and see no reason to get the DG version. Since I use my hood, flare is never/rarely a problem.

Have also happened upon the Sigma 28-300 f/3.5-6.3 macro and wondered if there are any downsides to the longer focal lengths in comparison to the 70-300. I have the "kit" lens with my D70, but the 28-300 might be a great choice for a "one lens" solution for lots of shots. It's $80 more, which isn't a show stopper in a price comparison to the 70-300.

I'm certain there's more to it than that, so again, any input appreciated.
