Here's my attempt at catching my kids pumpkin.

Pana Fz5
Tripod
set to nightscenery
ISO 100

Let me know (as i'm just learning) what i could have done to improve, I think the candle is a little overexposed!!!

Let me know (as i'm just learning) what i could have done to improve, I think the candle is a little overexposed!!!I would have "hid" the candle entirely, so that you get the light, but can't actually see the source. Also, the baseboard is a distracting element. I would place the pumpkin somewhere else with a better or completely neutral backgorund, or far enough from the wall as to blur the background. And the reflection could be used as a creative element if excuted more carefully. It has the potential to be a great shot...

Hope this helps! Keep shooting! :)

I agree with JTL. Perhaps a higher camera angle (more reflection visible). If you have PS, or equivalent, - have a go at removing the irritating horizontal thing (window frame, or whatever it is) and re-post.

Keep at it. For most of us, its just done for fun.

Thanks for the feedback, it was just an impromptu pic on tripod before we left house. It was on a cooker hob......not intentionally set up!! Agree about silver line.......and i see about the candle...will get rid in photoshop..!!

Many Thanks.....just learning, might light it and try again before it perishes........fireworks next!!!!!!!!!
