Is it possible to use external flash when you need more light with S2?
I know it does not have hot shoe, but is there any other way?
How strong is the flash built in?
Thanks,
Walter.

Thanks,
Walter. The published flash range for the S2 is as follows:

Normal: 2.3-17.1 ft./0.7-5.2m (W), 2.3-13.1 ft./0.7-4.0m (T)
Macro: 1.0 ft.-2.3 ft./0.3-0.7m (when sensitivity is set to ISO 100 equivalent)

The flash on the S2 is adequate for most situations, but if more light is needed, almost any slave flash will do. Here's a rundown of a few:

Canon HF-DC1 - overpriced and underwhelming performance. Its only advantage is its small size. Also, the head does not swivel and rotate so you can't bounce the flash.

DigiSlave 2000, 3000, Pro - very nice flash units with great features.

Phoenix D91-BZS and B92-DZS - good value for the money.

Vivitar DF200 - same as the Phoenix D91-BZS.

There are others as well, but I've tried all of these and they all work...google these and compare the specs for yourself since they vary greatly...
