Hi

My pristine Canon 28-200 F3.5/5.6 fell apart on me during a theatre shoot last week, very upset as the lens has never been knocked or dropped.

The zoom ring no longer engages the elements and bits of plastic rattle inside, this has always been an optically impressive lens but it has a crappy plastic build quality that has cost me a huge repair fee if thats even possible..

I have another shoot in a week and there isnt time to repair this lens... any suggestions for a replacement, ideally a little faster.

I've looked at the Sigma and Tameron 17-200 F3.5/5.6 lenses and am very tempted as the extra range will save lens changes in those dusty theatres.

The tameron for some reason seems to zoom in further than both my old canon and the Sigma which would be a bonus, but test photos elseware on this forum show it to be suspiciously hazey and de saturated.

Has anyone got the Tameron and what do you honestly think of it.

Best Regards

Mike
