Hello All,

Attended a Halloween Parade with my S9000.

Sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Sunnyside
Featuring the Sunnyside Drum Corps
Saturday, October 29, 2005.

Check out #6, That is 25+ faces in a row in one frame, and each face is fully detailed on my monitor. This makes me very, very happy:

On our way home I forgot to get the flyer announcing the parade. #1 was shot from my driver's seat from the middle of the street ( stopped for a red light), at 300 mm, handheld.

Hi Hercules and All,

Congratulations on your coming S9000. You won't be sorry.

I keep the 16 mb XD card that came with the camera in the slot so the contacts are not exposed to the air.

I use only CF cards, only Lexar, Sandisk, Efilm. I have 2 - 1GB, 2- 512MB and two- 256MB cards. None larger than 1 GB ( don't want too many eggs in one baslet), NO MICRODRIVES. I don't use anything that moves except my PC hard drive. Solid State for me. CF is cheap enough. I had trouble with a PNY card, NG.

CF cards are cheaper and bigger to handle. With my fingers I would lose the XD card befoe long.

Get the 2500 Batteries, two sets to start.

IS can be very useful depending on your type of subject.
I don't need it with my S9000. It would slow down its speed.

Regards, Nicholas.

Hey Nick, great pics. Looking at all these photos with S9000/9500 Fuji's I am starting to miss mine already. Sold it to buy the Finepix S3 Pro as I want to turn my hobby into a small business, but am still grappling with all the functionality of the new one. I loved my S9500 for the ease of use it gave me.

Cheers,
Petr

Yes, that's it. You do have to select CF card on the menu.

Hercules, One thing I forgot to mention:

As soon as I took my S9000 out of the box, the very first thing I did was screw on my B&W UV 58mm filter. I never take it off unless I want to use my circular polarizer.

The cost of this filter is "mandatory" IMHO.

Let us know when you put the batteries in your S9000. Good shooting.

Regards, Nicholas
