Anybody here from canada? There's a store here in Toronto that carries the Rebel XT US model and Canadian model and the price difference is $140 Cdn. in favour of the US Model. Now my question is, for those who are canadian or whoever can shed some light, what is the difference? I think the US model, the retailer carries the warranty and of course the Canadian, Canon carries it. What are the pros and cons of buying the US model, other than the pro is saving me $140 which could go towards the 28-135 IS USM.
The price is for body only, $820 US model, $960 Cdn model
Thanks for your replies.

Are you sure the U.S model wasn't listed in U.S currency? I did the conversion from $820 US and it came out to $965 CAD.

It's $820 CDN.. The place is called HIT Camera. The owner says he has a store down in the states. That's why he can sell it cheap, since Canon USA sells the stuff cheaper the Canon Canada

I shoulda bought mine from that guy. Everywhere I go, the price is over $1000, and I'm in Canada. The best deal I've found so far is for $1299 (+14%tax) for an XT with a 70-300MM f4.5/5.6 USM telephoto... but that was a blow-out price.. (although, I paid that for mine innitially without the lense, and I got it cheap! I'm jeleous :-p)

You got yours from Future shop right? I saw that ad. There is also a place in I think alberta... www.camera-warehouse.ca they have good prices too.
The only thing I don't like is that when you need some warranty service from this $820 CDN seller, you have to go through him and canon usa not canon canada. But he does offer extended warranty.
