Purple Pictures

I have a Kodak DC 280 which has been a real workhorse. Recently all my pictures have purple splotches all over. The pictures are sharp and in focus.
Does anyone have any idea what's wrong?? Kodak gave me the standard EK answer "Camera no longer supported, too bad for you"

I don't understand why kodak will no longer support cameras that are no longer in production. I absolutely love my camera, I have an LS443 but I have an error message and they can't even tell me what it means. It seems like such a waste to get a good Kodak camera and spend $500 and in three years when it breaks, its just too bad. That is too much to spend for something Kodak seems to think is basically disposable. Where do you go from here, Cannon, Sony, Minolta??? I sympathize with you!!
