Hello,

Does anyone have suggestions for a telephoto lens for the A95? Canon's lenses seem expensive compared to others I've seen. I'd mainly be using the lens for travel and wildlife photos. I'd like it to work well for action shots also (for whalewatching, etc.) - I'm very new at this, so I don't know how the lens affects action shots.

Thanks for your help!,

Check out LensMate's A95 page (http://www.lensmateonline.com/newsite/A95A80.html) .. they make adapters for extra attachments that are arguably better than the Canon ones (they're aluminum instead of plastic, and match the camera color), and are cheaper to boot. They also sell a bunch of wide/tele/macro converters to go with them.

They have pages comparing most of the good choices for adapters, with sample pictures and commentary. Go see for yourself, they'll probably take care of your needs.

Balrog's right!

Lensmate is Canon's P&S's best friend! And by that your not even limted to canon lens.. You can, for eg' attach a fast 50mm (under a $100 on ebay) Pentax prime lens which will equal a much greater focal length than 50mm because of the crop factor ratio A95's 1/1.8 CCD sensor.

You can even get a reverse thread and screw the 50mm prime backwards to get even closer!

Thats the advantage of P&S compared to SLR is that your smaller CCD takes you much more further.

Have a look at what Mr Plonsky did with a Canon G3 which is basicly a 4MP A95 without the RAW.
