What are the high speed (X40?) memory cards for? What speed is this one?

I am thinking about getting a CANON A95, and would like add one of these memory cards to my purchase. If it is a good deal/product please let me know.

Thanks in advance.

The A95 and most consumer digitals do not make use of high speed cards as their processor interface is relatively slow. The only place that it might make a slight difference is when shooting in continuous mode, and even the it is debatable.

The price for the 1GB Kingson card is not exceptional, but not bad either. Fry's had this card on sale last week for $69.99 after rebate. This week they have an incredible deal of 19.99 for a 512MB card after $25 rebate.

So you can buy 2 - 512MB cards for $90 and get $50 back.
