I am a new photographer trying to take pictures of jewelery display through glass...the whole display is in WB. but I am having problems with the shots being 'washed out'' pls can anyone help.

Post examples, post exposure settings, and equipment.
Since you are shooting through glass, flash is probably a no-no. Have you tried using a polarizing filter to cut through the glare?
Should I ask if the glass is perfectly clean on both sides?
For aquarium shots, shooting at an angle works well for avoiding flash glare. Also pressing the lense to the glass. Cupping your hand around lense end to block glare works too, but if you're using flash be careful not to create a shadow.

thanx for the tips guys
im using a canon d50, hot light, home-made light box, polar filter, wb setting iso1600.
the shots are too big to upload...but they are are terrible...really needs help!!!
