Last week I went for a walk through Toronto's huge High Park. The autumn light was just spectacular - everywhere I looked, it was a Kodachrome slide. Fortunately my FZ20 thought so too.

The parks department always puts a beautiful floral display at the entrance, but they don't put up signs to tell you what you're looking at. Whatever these are, they're certainly gorgeous.

Deeper into the woods and the trees have formed a canopy overhead. Shafts of sunlight are coming through small openings and lighting everything up like a stage set. This looks like fill flash, but it's natural light.

The little chatterbox red squirrel heads down for a peanut, growling and scolding all the way.

The everpresent chickadees never turn down a free peanut or two.

The squirrels are getting fat, which they'll need for the upcoming lean months.

The chipmunks are getting scarce, but a few are still around, accepting handouts to store in their burrows.

And back to the entrance again. I couldn't pass up the chance to shoot these leaves bathed in that wonderful fall light.

Bill
