Last week I went for a walk through Toronto's huge High Park. The autumn light was just spectacular - everywhere I looked, it was a Kodachrome slide. Fortunately my FZ20 thought so too.

The parks department always puts a beautiful floral display at the entrance, but they don't put up signs to tell you what you're looking at. Whatever these are, they're certainly gorgeous.

Deeper into the woods and the trees have formed a canopy overhead. Shafts of sunlight are coming through small openings and lighting everything up like a stage set. This looks like fill flash, but it's natural light.

The little chatterbox red squirrel heads down for a peanut, growling and scolding all the way.

The everpresent chickadees never turn down a free peanut or two.

The squirrels are getting fat, which they'll need for the upcoming lean months.

The chipmunks are getting scarce, but a few are still around, accepting handouts to store in their burrows.

And back to the entrance again. I couldn't pass up the chance to shoot these leaves bathed in that wonderful fall light.

Panasonic FZ20, Vivitar 285HV and a second mortgage worth of peanuts.

Nice series of photographs and lovely colours Bill. Do you underexpose slightly to get the colours like that on the FZ20. That is what I've tended to do -1/3 usually or -2/3 sometimes. Oh bye the way I can see these shots! I'll have to go back & look at the others to see if they've appeared now.

Thanks, Phill. Yes, I usually underexpose in bright light by 2/3 EV.

As for the missing Laffs #2, that's a real mystery. I checked the URLs by copying them and pasting them into Explorer, and they show up fine. I have no idea what's going on with those and why you can't see them.

Try clicking on that and see if you get a photo of a chipmunk shaking sand off its coat.

Now I'm really confused  . I tried looking at this forum at work today. Usually there are lots of images I can see at home but that don't download at work due to the local network security settings, however, all your images showed up Bill & great they were too. I still can't get them at home though!!! More detective work still to do I think.
