It's funny how people that find out I live in Las Vegas, actually think I live on the strip, or they ask me..."Hey, Eso... I bet you are down on the strip ALL the time eh?" Quite the contrary. This was my first trip down to the strip in about 2 years... and I forgot about how fun shooting neon and lights can be. I think I am going to try to get down there more often. Feedback is appreciated.

That's pretty god Eso.
I was there in March - great place for night shots
(theres some on my Yahoo site)
What camera??
Do you/Can you experiment with the exposure? I personally
tend to go for under exposure on those sorts of shots
Do you remember any of your settings?? Just interested.

Geoff:
D70s and I beleive I was using the Nikkor 50mm 1.8. I should have under exposed it a little. I wish I could have expirimented more... but after 20 shots or so.. a huge dust storm ravaged the strip and it turned into your worst nightmare. I will have to get down there again soon and shoot some more pics (under exposed). Thanks for the feed back.

I recently went to Las Vegas this summer and apart from some food photos, the rest was a diaster. Day photos were so-so at best, and the night photos.... I won't say anything more about them. For reference, that was a point and shoot camera with no manual controls or prolonged exposure options.
If you plan to take pictures in Vegas, bring along a decent camera with manual controls AND/OR a tripod to even think about taking any nighttime shots.

Quite often its easy to locate a column ledge to steady the camera for nice accurate night shots in Vegas:
1/6s f/2.8 at 28.0mm iso200

I have found the porn racks to be plentiful, and strategically located, so that using them with a mini tripod works great.:D

I'm sure I've posted some Vegas pictures before but couldn't see them in here so here are a few more. First my view of the Paris by night shot.

And third you could only find this in Vegas.
Oh I found my previous Vegas posts & lots of other peoples by looking at my posting history (just to prove I wasn't going barmy) but none of the earlier posts seem to show up when you look at the thread taking a route from the forums page. Anyone know how come?
