Hello everyone
Any opinions/ pics on this lens? I read good reviews on this @ fredmiranda.com though it may not be L class. B&H is selling this for USD 634 and thats too much for this. any better option?
thanks

If you don't mind losing the IS, I've heard a lot of good things about the Sigma 70-300 APO .. it runs a little over $200, if I recall correctly...
How about the Sigma 70-200 f2.8. That's quite a nice lens.

It is supposed to be very good but is very long and heavy.

The Sigma APO version is cheap and good. The Canon 70-300 IS version is getting an update soon. How it will perform optically has to be seen yet, since it is not out yet.
The 2.8 70-200 lenses are very heavy, whether they are from Nikon, Canon or Sigma. A less heavy option is the Canon 70-200 f4 L. Nice and sharp without the bulk.

The new Canon 70-300 IS has been out for a few weeks. People are loving it.

It's a little pricey right now but may come down in a few months. (Look for rebates/specials.)
