Hi
Just bought a Sony DSC S60. Great stuff with some problems.

1. Flash photographs have a yellow tinge/hue all over....quite annoying.

2. Win XP pro not able to recognise my camera through USB. Tried all sorts of techniques...no result. (manual says no need to install drivers for Win XP ,so Sony hasn't provided one with the Picture package CD). I even downlaoded a universal driver from drivergide.com but failed.

Please help...

Hi,

Have you tried testing your USB ports to see that they are functioning correctly? If the ports work ok perhaps it is the camera (if possible try your camera on another PC).

I'm not familar with the camera you have mentioned but perhaps one of the settings on the camera is incorrect. How about resetting the camera to factory default settings (a small button on the bottom of my DSC W1) and then giving it a try. Did the camera take decent shots when you first got it?

Hi
Yes my usb 2.0 port is working fine .I am using it for uploading pics from my mobile camera motorola v303. Camera is taking great pics. But I haven,t tried the default factory settings. I will try it tonight and hope to get it right.
What about the yellow hue in flash photos , any idea?

chaks-

A very simple and inexpensive solution is to use a chip reader and avoid downloading from the Sony S-60 all together. The chip reader will cost $(US) 10 to 20 and it will save you a lot of grief.

My wife has the S40, and when connectted to the PC, I have to hit the menu button to turn USB on. On my F717, it just connects, but the S40 says on the screen to hit menu. Just a thought.

Thanks
I have got multicard reader and also its working fine. But one of my friends told me that it is better to download the pics directly from camera or else the memory card gets damaged ( scratched)by frequent in and outs of the camera and reader. Any thoughts.

There is no factory settings button in DSC S60. Any other way to work around.
and still no clue about the yellow hue ????
