P880 and P850 wide angle accessory lens

I'm interested in 24mm wide angle capability. As far as I can tell, the P880 is the only digital camera that goes this wide. However, the P850 can get to about 25mm with a wide-angle adapter. In addition, the P850 has image stabilization which remains active even with the adapter. The P880 has image stabilization which is only active at "night" settings, e.g. low light or at long zooms. My question is, which would give a higher quality picture at the wide angle setting?

Since P880 is not released yet it is hard to compare.
P850 users are very happy with sharpness, details and image stabilization of that camera. Kindly check ate steves forum or dpreview forums.
