I just got my 350D yesterday, and my first lens tonight. I put the lens on and it was taking pictures just fine and now, after I get it home from going somwehere, I cantry to take a picture but all I get is a black screen in the pictures. The lens cap isn't on or anything! HELP!

It's almost like if I jiggle the camera, it takes a picture, not just black. there is also sometihng loose inside it seems....don't know what it would be though.

GAH! I just called tech support, and he says my sensor went bad or something. I have to send it in to get it replaced, but I need the darn thing to photograph a wedding this Sat. GAH! I'm starting to get extremely SICK OF THIS!

If you didn't order it take it back to the merchant.

I ordered it from a store on-line. BHPhotovideo.com

I can of course send it back and get a exchange. However, I can't send it back, and get the new one in 2 days. I need this on Sat morning

I feel your pain...but...that's what you get for:

A. Scheduling a wedding gig when you JUST got your first camera and
B. Not having a backup camera.

If this wedding is important enough (meaning you're the primary photographer), you should have been prepared for this.

It's for a friend. I have a Nikon 8800 I can shoot with. But, I mianly bought this camera to do my friends wedding. I'm no pro, so plesae, don't treat me as one.

No offense at that meant, either. I'm in such a crappy mood right now, so . . . ignore my ranting.

Ahh sorry bout that. I thought you were more frustrated because a lot (read: career in photography) was at stake. My apologies.

Well; you could get one at Costco for only a few dollars more, and BH is very good at giving full refunds within the perscribed period (10 days I think). Costco has a, well, unlimited return policy.

You could also rent one. If you're in the LA area, Pro Photo Connection (949) 250-7073 has a huge rental collection of all-pro gear. I think a full setup costs about $75 for the weekend (camera, lense, flash, case).

Don't forget to allow time for charging the batteries.

Please; don't use a point-and-shoot for your friend's wedding. And if you get a flash, don't make my mistake and not learn how to use the flash first. Find someone to give instruction and try it there - and learn to use the flash-sync button.

Hope that helps some. Cheers.

Haha. THanks. No problem there cdi-buy. I've looked into renting, but I live in a hole in Michigan, and the closest store to even carry the (and way overpriced) camera is 2 hours away. Renting, is another matter, and I'd have about a 4-5 hour drive to manage that....I think I MIGHT be able to manage this....I'll order another this morning over the phone, with 1 day shipping....I might still get it before Sat, and then I'll just send the other in for the refund.

Thank God that this isn't my career yet. Hopefully I learn all this crap before I get that deep....lol! Again, sorry if it seemed I snapped at you cdi-buy

I just hope that Canon doesn't do this to me again....must've been a defective product...(defective parts and workmanship or something), because nothing happened to it between the hour it was taking pictures and the hour it wasn't....

No worries...I was the one that snapped, not you. For what its worth, mine shut down on me about a month after I got it. It wouldnt power up or anything. I sent it to Canon and they replaced quite a few different systems in the camera and it has worked better than new ever since. Turnaround was approximately 10 days, including a weekend and shipping both ways.

Well, I ordered ANOTHER DReb XT from Adray Camera in Mich (since I'm also in Mich) and it'll be here tomorrow...if B&H won't accept a return/refund for it, I'll send it in to repair it, then sell it.

Or if you can afford to keep it, keep it. Then you can stick your zoom lens on one and your prime on the other. No more changing lenses until you get MORE lenses! :D

hehe...I'd be tempted, so long as I can sell my Nikon 8800 and accessories for $800....I gotta pay my mom back, since I borrowed this $800 from her....(the Nikon and first 350d were my money though, lol)
