Seriously though, I think you did pretty well considering you were shooting with your Bigma handheld (right?) at night. Those are tough shots to get. Did you use focus assist from the flash?

I was actually on the monopod this time. shooting from basically the 1st down marker most of the time. On some of them I did use the max range but most of them were around 100-300mm. The Sigma has infrared AF-assist so it was used for a good many shots. It's effective up to about 20 feet. The home team was the maroon uniforms...and unfortunately it was almost 100% defense. Not much offensive action to capture for the paper since they only scored once in the entire game. They got whooped 35-7, so there wasn't much defensive action either. lol.
