Yes, it is me again. I posted a thread regarding a camera for myself...meanwhile I would like to give my 13 yr old nephew his first DC.

My budget is $100 - $200

It should be small enough to fit in his pockets (which are quite large since he is already 5'10")

He has handled many different types of cameras, from his mom's point and shoot to his dad's Canon DSLR.

He likes to take photos of friends and family at social functions.
He may also take action shots of his friends riding dirt bikes, quads and dune buggies.

It would be great if it was a "cool" looking camera...or whatever the kids call it these days.

He is comfortable with high end electronics. He will not be printing these photos any larger than 8x10. He has access to PC's and lots of programs because his dad is a tech guy.

Thanks a bunch!
:)

Good and cheap rarly go together, especially when size factors in.

What has he prefered using of the cameras he used? Buying him a pocket mini cam might be wrong way to go if he doesn't want one and visa versa.

Of the pocket stuff, I don't know one that would fit the bill in your price range. The Fuji F10 (and F11) are nice little cameras but thats about as close as you'll come for something that needs action.

The FZ-4 which currently can be hard for 250 online is a great cam but not quite pocketable.

Only cameras in that price range low end kodaks, which are .. ok... but not really for anything fast moving more for easy snapshot cameras.

Thanks for your feedback. I ended up ordering the Canon Powershot A520 from Dell Home - got it for $161 inc. tx & shipping. I'll have to see if it meets his needs. Keeping my fingers crossed!
