I'm very confused

Hi, I have a probelm. This is my first dslr and well I'm running into a problem. I've decided on a cannon. Though I've noticed that there is the cannon 350d and a cannon rebel xt. Now I'm not positive if these are the same thing. I know this is probably dumb, but hey I want to make sure I'm correct. :) The reason I think there is a difference is because some camera's say on them 350 while others say rebel. Rebel XT is the US model, 350D is the international model.

They are exactly the same, just the naming for the american market is different. My film camera EOS 300 was called Rebel 2000 in america in 2000 when i bought it too.
