HI all
I finally bought a rebel xt with a Canon EF-S 17-85mm f/4-5.6 IS USM Lens. I am quite happy with the quality of this lens. Any advise regarding the use of teleconverters for the rebel xt?
Thanks
Dr Krishna Raman
For the price of a good teleconverter you can get a longer lens to supplament what you already have and without losing two stops.

Agreed, that lens would be a big disappointment with a TC, just go for a tele zoom (like the new 70-300 IS maybe?).
What is it with 300mm worship? When I used film, 200mm was the norm for a long lens. With the crop factor of digital, 200mm is 300mm approx and 300mm is 450mm approx. There's less reason to get a 300 than there was before. I'd say get a nice 70-210 rather than anything longer.
The loss of a stop on an f4 lens will make a big difference. I find my f4-f5.6 70-300 is a bit too dark for most situations. I'm hoping I can afford the Sigma 70-200 f2.8 sometime soon.

Then get a 200mm zoom. I don't really give a **** what the OP gets - lighten up Man.
