Single Lens Reflex. This has come to mean a camera that displays a real-time image, through the lens (TTL) and into the optical viewfinder, typically by using a mirror to reflect the image.
Not to be confused with all-in-one cameras using an EVF (Electronic View Finder) which is TTL (Through The Lens) but not a real-time image. The EVF is actually a small LCD display where the optical viewfinder is normally.
Hope this helps.
