Thank you for any help. I am looking for a digital camera that takes 8-10 fps. Hopefully in the $500 range. I am open to brands and even price.

I don't think one exists. The 20D dSLR takes only 5 fps (which to me seems blazing fast) and it's $1500+

The Canon S2 IS is < $500, but is only rated at 2.4 fps. That's the fastest one I know.

If there is a camera that does what you're asking, it will be a dSLR...or a camcorder.

If you are talking about full resolution images (i.e. 2-16 MegaPixel) it does not exist. If you are talking about 640 x 480 movie mode then 15-30 fps is the norm these days.

The two fastest cameras on the market today are the 8.2MP Canon 1D MarkII at 8.5 fps ~$4000, and the Nikon D2X 7MP at 8 fps ~$5000. Nothing close for $500. The Canon 20D is next at 8MP and 5 fps for around $1400 (body only).
