Microphoto

I work in a lab and we are looking at getting a camera for our stereomicroscope.
Now I have several questions, but I'll do them one at a time.
The first is that we would like one that can be connected to the computer. We would like to be able to download directly to the computer, instead of having to go the extra step of downloading off of the memory card. Ideally, we would like to have a real time setup, probably using the TWAIN interface, through which we could view the live image.
We have software capable of this (Image Pro Plus), but are looking for hardware.
The reason we are looking for these features in a stand alone camera instead of a dedicated imaging system is that we will also be using it for gross photographs.
Thx
PS - sorry, forgot to include this info
Budget: not a major issue, $300-400 Cdn if possible
Size: 35mm (need ability to attatch to a M 42 x0.75 thread T2 adaptor)
Megapixels/Image quality: Image quality is the greatest concern. We will be using our software to zoom in and to enhance the image. We need a sharp image to work off of.
Optical zoom: Important, but we can use the stereoscopes optics to greatly enhance the zoom of even a 4x camera. But evey little bit helps, so I'll say 10x optical :)
