Hello to everyone... This is my frist time actually posting a thread. I just spend the time reading other posts but i just wasn't fully convinced about which Digital Camera I should get. I have been looking for the past 3 or 4 weeks on which digital camera to get because as I notice right now, time is just going by sooo fast that i haven't kept any memories. So i want to get a good digital camera... First of all i honestly don't know much about cameras. I just see my friends' little ones and i think they are pretty cool, but now it's time to get ME one. I was looking through sony, panasonic, nikin, Hp, cassio, and some other "popular" ones. If you can consider them that. I would like a camera that takes good clear pictures and when I view them in my computer to be as big as the screen and not have those tiny little squares from the resolution i'm guessing it is. Night shots i wouldn't like for them to be blurry or dark, some cameras make your face or other parts of the background look in different colors, I really don't know what the cause of that is, but i don' like it. I also want a camera that takes good videos, by this i mean i want it to be as good as it can be, not have those squares when you are watching the video as it plays. I would like for it to be pretty small, i really dont like the big cameras, I was actually hoping to go for the sony M1 or the T7. But the reviews just really don't convince me. I saw this panasonic SV-AV100 which i think is pretty cool, those features about being able to record tv shows and watch them whenever you want in that little camera, Man i think it is a cool feature but it has no flash and i think it's missing a lot of other stuff. But the price for it is $999.00. I was surprised when i saw the price, and well i really dont know how this camera performs but the price seems to talk a lot. I don't know if i sound too picky or demand too much of perfection, but i just want the money im gonna spend on a camera be worth it. Please help me, this is the reason im coming to you experts in the forum, it's very interesting and updated. Thanx for the help...

First time I heard of Panasonic SV-AV100. After surfing the net out of curiousity I deducted it is some sort of expensive toy. I doubt how useful it will be as a serious camera. No electronic devices give you everything in one.
As you mentioned, AV100 has no flash. How can you take photos indoors or at night? How serious a camera can it be? It is really this sort of device that give you the poor quality photos that you mentioned. 'some cameras make your face or other parts of the background look in different colors'.
There are so many compact cameras to choose from. Kodak V series; Canon A-series, SD series, Nikon, Panasonic FX series; which are very capable in producing impressive still photos (and even some videos) without breaking your budget.
Maybe I'm too quick in prejudging the AV100. Maybe it is something you find useful for one thing or another. But as a digital still camera (with even optional videos), I seriously doubt it will be very useful.

Well the thing is that i just saw the price and well i thought that that Panasonic one would have many features and didnt require a flash, because i thought that there were some that had like night shot or somehting like that... you know? but i just want a good camera that takes good pictures and videos, you pretty much know what i need and what im looking for... But it's just that there are too many different reviews for the different types of cameras that i really dont know which one to go for. I like the sony M1 or the DSC T7 but i dont know how well the camera works... and i dont know if i should wait for the M2 or the N1 or any of those,,, that's why im here to ask for different opinions from the guys that REALLY KNOW about this stuff...But thanx a lot man, your post is giving me more ideas.
