Panosonic FZ30 or Kodak p850

I need help in a decision between these to.. I know they are slightly different cameras lol.

Kodak -850 i can get at best buy for $425... its 5.1MP 12x zoom

Pansonic FZ30 $530 online... its 8 MP and 12x Zoom

I guess i wanna know if the extra 3 extra MP is worth the extra $100?

I like that the FZ30 has 3 frames per second shooting, and super macro setting.

I like the easy of printing with the Kodak Easy Share System.

I don't own either camera. But, on top of 3 more mp, you'll get a manual focus ring. Not sure if that's important to you or not.

I don't know much about the P850, but something about it impresses me. I can't explain it, really. I think I just like that it's the latest UZ to come out *shrug* Will probably have less noise than the FZ30. But, with 3 more mp on the FZ30, you can always resize and possibly come out with an equivalent 5mp image...?

Since I've never used a digital camera with manual focus ring, I can't really say how much I'd like it. I am perfectly fine with my S2's auto zoom and focus. But, the saying goes, "Ignorance is bliss." :D

Oh, and the Kodak is a bit smaller. Not sure if that's important to you or not. It was when I made my decision to buy my S2.

I've got a P850 and like it. Another option for you might be Fuji's new S9000. Definately get a feel for them both if possible, then go from there. Good luck!

FZ30 is larger and heavier than Kodak P850. Noise is another downside of FZ30 and weak RAW conversion support. How ever it has manual focus ring and higher zoom options with lower resolutions than 8mp. Best way is to test your self in the store. Kodak is slower shot to shot but burst mode is quite good. Focus of Pana would be faster however.
