Hi,

I need a small point and shoot camera mostly to be carried on my motorcycle. This will replace a dead Canon S400. The new FX9 satifies my feature requirements.

The only question left to answer is the general reliability and robustness of this series of cameras. I haven't seen anything yet to indicate that it has a design problem so I'm hopeful. Is this series robust enough to live in a fanny pack while riding a street bike? I think that I'll buy an extended warranty no matter what, but I don't want to buy another camera with a known reliability issue.

Thanks for your responses.

I'm interpreting the lack of responses to be that everybody who has one of these cameras is happy with its robustness and reliability. So I ordered one today from OneCall. To be safe, I also ordered a 5-year extended warranty for it. OneCall has an interesting policy for their extended warranties. If you don't need it, they refund 1/2 of its cost as a store credit when it expires.

So now I'm looking forward to playing with a new toy. :D
