I'm undecided between Canon S2 IS and Panasonic FZ5. I like to know how FZ5 performs under low light condition. Mostly indoor during evening party or family gathering when the light isn't ideal. I owned a Canon A80. It took decent pictures under this condition. I could use its view finder. Its LCD sometime is useless under this circumstance. I read reviews that FZ5's LCD and EVF doesn't "gain up" in low light. Since the EVF is all electronic now, it would be very difficult to take picture if I can't see it. Any FZ5 owners out there tried it?

I don't care about the movie mode. This isn't a camcorder. I've never even used my A80 movie mode other than to test it out. I'm sure these two cameras take excellent pictures with good lighting. I wouldn't be able to distinguish the difference anyway.

Thanks!

While I have not tried the Canon, if there is enough light to have a party there is enough light to use the EVF on the Fluzzis.
And IMHO, you would want to use a flash but I guess if you did not with the A70 you would not need to with the FZ5 either as the FZ5 has a brighter lens than the A70.

My FZ20 doesn't gain up in M-mode only. It does gain up in other modes (P, A, Scn modes).
