Hi - I have an Olympus Stylus 300 that I'm looking to replace. It is 3yr old and has taken alot of abuse (It's been dropped many times - hard enough to bend the lens cover and it still works fine !) I need to take close up photos for work (small parts etc.) and it is not very good in this mode. I would also be using it for general anytime photos. I want a camera that I can carry in my pocket but it doesn't have to be ultra compact. I'm considering the Olympus Stylus 800, Cannon PowerShot SD550, Panasonic Lumix FX9 or ?. Any feedback would be appreiated. Cost is not important.

Best MACRO?
You should also look at Canon PowerShot SD450 Digital ELPH. Macro 3cm (1" = 2.54cm)
From your shortlist of the 3, Olympus 800 has best macro on paper. I'm not sure about print quality for I have none of them and blissfully blind to minor detail flaws.
You should also research on Fuji F10. I have read it's a good all-rounder camera with good indoors lowlight capability.
