Filenaming

Hi

I have a Canon A70. Does anybody know why the filename format has suddenly changed from xxx_xxxx to IMG_xxxx (where 'x's are numbers)?

It changes as the images are downloaded to the harddrive, so all the images on the computer start with "img". The names remain unchanged on the memory card, though. Different methods of file transfer may do different things. For example, with Zoom Browser downloads the names are changed as I just described. But, if you put the memory card into a card reader, you can copy the files to any other directory on your harddrive, and the names won't be changed.

Thanks for the tip but even if I use a card reader (or view the photos directly through the camera), the file names are still IMG_xxxx.

When I first bought the camera, the IMG was a number which increased every time I did a download to PC. One day it decided to use IMG instead and has been like that every since.

Strange.
